Great Mailing Opportunities – The 2017 Mailing Promotions continue to build on the engagement strategies of the 2016 Promotions. The promotions focus on providing marketers with the opportunity to engage their customers by using dynamic color, new print techniques, mobile technology as well as traditional and innovative mail techniques. The promotions are designed to create excitement about mail and provide multiple opportunities for mailers to enhance the value of their mail.

2017 Promotions & Incentives

Earned Value Promotion

Promotion runs January 1 through June 30, 2017
Registration: November 15 - December 31, 2016

The 2017 Earned Value Promotion attempts to slow the decline of First-Class Mail® in general and Business Reply Mail (BRM) and Courtesy Reply Mail (CRM) in particular. The Earned Value Promotion will be offered to participants who use Business Reply Mail (BRM) enclosures and Courtesy Reply Mail (CRM) enclosures. Share Mail™ enclosures is an additional product that has been added to this promotion. Participants must register their Mailer IDs (MIDs) and permit(s) to which future earned credits will be applied on the Business Customer Gateway. The U.S. Postal Service® would like to ensure that mail remains a relevant part of the First-Class Mail marketing mix.

2017 Tactile, Sensory, & Interactive Promotion

Promotion runs February 1 through July 31, 2017
Registration: December 15 – July 31, 2017

This promotion leverages some of the latest technological advances within the print industry, providing marketers with exciting new ways to enhance and encourage sensory engagement with a mailpiece. The print industry has been innovative not only in print production equipment, but the fundamental elements of mail itself through new developments in papers/stocks, substrates, finishing techniques and inks. These elements can be incorporated to engage in a multi-sensory experience through the use of special visual effects, sound, scent, texture/tactile treatments and even taste.

2017 Emerging & Advanced Technology Promotion

Promotion runs March 1 through August 31, 2017
Registration: January 15 – August 31, 2017

This promotion encourages mailers to integrate mail with advances in mobile technology using NFC technology, Video in Print (ViP), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)/Beacon technology, "Enhanced" Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality or Digital to Direct Mail experience to allow the recipient to engage in innovative digital and mobile experiences triggered from their mailpiece. New for this year is the inclusion of Virtual Reality to generate opportunities to immerse consumers by creating interactivity and harnessing a first-hand engagement experience. We have also added Digital to Direct Mail to this year's promotion to elicit a higher response from consumers by using dynamically printed, personalized messaging that is automatically triggered based on a digital interaction.

2017 Direct Mail Starter Promotion

Promotion runs May 1 through July 31, 2017
Registration: March 15 – July 31, 2017

"New" Opportunities for the small and medium market segments to grow and attract new mailers. This promotion is offered to first time mailers to promote events and offers that incorporate the use of print-mobile technology on up to 10,000 mailpieces during the length of the promotion.

2017 Mobile Shopping Promotion

Promotion runs August 1 through December 31, 2017
Registration: June 15 – December 31, 2017

Encourage mailers to adopt and invest in technologies that create consumer excitement and highlight the connection between the mailpiece and the digital shopping experience. It is designed to enable customers to conveniently go from the mailpiece directly to a mobile optimized online shopping experience using technology platforms.

2017 Personalized Color Transpromo Promotion

Promotion runs July 1 through December 31, 2017
Registration: May 15 – December 31, 2017

New print technologies deliver unique, creative materials that generate experiences you cannot have in a singularly digital way. The 2017 Personalized Color Transpromo Promotion incorporates marketing messages that use color, dynamic variable print, and personalization. By using color messaging in bills and statements, business mailers can enhance the value of First-Class Mail and foster a better connection and response from customers.
