2023 Promotions and Incentive Programs

Building upon the success of prior Promotions Calendars, the Postal Service has developed a Promotions Calendar for Calendar Year (CY) 2023. The general purpose of the CY 2023 Promotions is to encourage marketers, printers, and mailers to utilize new technology and print techniques that enhance the traditional benefits of a physical mailpiece. This in turn will drive engagement and higher response rates and increase the overall return on the mailer's investment in mail. By encouraging the use of technologies integrated in mail, the Postal Service expects to increase the value of direct mail and retain the volumes of transactional mail, thereby ensuring long-term product growth. The promotion periods will range between 3 to 7 months in duration, starting as early as February 1, 2023.

New to this year promotions is our Mailing Promotions Portal. This portal modernizes the sample review process and allows mailers to keep better track of their mailings and get their questions answered.

2023 Personalized Color Transpromo Promotion

Promotion: February 1, 2023 - July 31, 2023
Registration: January 9, 2023 - July 31, 2023

The 2023 Personalized Color Transpromo Promotion encourages mailers to highlight marketing messages using color, dynamic variable print, and personalization within bill and statements. Color messaging can help draw attention to your offers. Personalization incorporated in bills and statements enhances the value of First-Class Mail by fostering a better connection and response from consumers. New to this year's promotion: add a reply mechanism to further engage with customers and earn an additional discount.

2023 Tactile, Sensory, & Interactive Mailpiece Engagement Promotion

Promotion: February 1, 2023 - July 31, 2023
Registration: January 9, 2023 - July 31, 2023

The print industry continues to develop innovations in papers/stocks, substrates, finishing techniques and inks. New print elements can be incorporated in a mail campaign to engage a multi-sensory experience through special visual effects, sound, scent, texture/tactile treatments, and even taste. In addition, interactive mailpiece features (such as pop-ups, infinite folds, or other dimensional treatments) can help drive customer engagement. Neuroscience and neuromarketing research suggests that marketing materials that engage tactile experiences and/or other senses lead to potentially significant impacts on brand recognition and message recall. By leveraging advances in print and finishing technology, marketers and mailers can enhance the way consumers interact and engage with mail to drive customer engagement and response rates.

2023 Emerging & Advanced Technology Promotion

Promotion: May 1, 2023 - November 30, 2023
Registration: May 15, 2022 - November 30, 2023

As mobile marketing and other print strategies evolve, mail has the potential to offer greater value by engaging customers in new and exciting ways. In order to ensure that direct mail continues to be an essential part of the marketing mix, the Postal Service is offering another promotion encouraging customers to incorporate eligible technologies such as NFC technology, Video in Print (ViP), "Enhanced' Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Integration with Voice Assistant (Basic and Advanced). New to this years promotion, we have included Mobile Shopping as an eligible technology.

2023 Reply Mail IMbA Promotion NEW

Promotion: July 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023
Registration: May 15, 2023 - December 31, 2023

The Reply Mail IMbA™ promotion encourages participants to streamline their Qualified Businesss Reply Mail™ (QBRM™) pieces utilizing Intelligent Mail® Barcode Accounting (IMbA™). Customers can take advantage of the system's efficiencies to improve their visibility into their QBRM™ pieces.

2023 Informed Delivery Promotion

Promotion: August 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023
Registration: June 15, 2023 - December 31, 2023

The Postal Service has created its own omni-channel tool for mail through the development of the Informed Delivery platform. In an effort to help mailers improve the results of their Informed Delivery campaigns, the Postal Service is offering a 4% discount off postage for mailings that use best practices and techniques in their Informed Delivery campaigns. New to this year's promotion, there is an incentive for the eDoc postage statement submitter.

2023 Retargeting Mail Promotion NEW

Promotion: September 1, 2023 - November 30, 2023
Registration: July 15, 2023 - November 30, 2023

This promotion incentivizes marketers to send out a First-Class Mail® postcard to a recent website or mobile app visitor that didn't convert. The process involves matching the IP address of a visitor to a website or an app to a customer's physical address. Retargeted direct mail is a dynamically printed, targeted message that is automatically triggered based on a digital interaction sent in a timely manner via First-Class Mail® postcards only directly to a customer's home.
